Deciding my next steps
I can't just dig my head into the sand and talk only about sewing and pattern making, ok?
We are in a huge time of change and restructure all around the world and I want to ensure that I'm making the best decision I can with the knowledge I currently have. We never truly know what's going to happen or how the decisions of others will effect our future. So I'm going to lay out what I have done.
1: I have moved all of my content onto a platform that is Australian based, called Ivorey.io, (I am Australian and this was a priority for me) which keeps my costs down a lot compared to what I had before. I wanted to keep my courses and shop pricing the same, and I would rather change my business costs than have to raise my prices. The world is expensive enough as it is.
To be completely transparent: I was with Kajabi at $199USD per month while I was still with them and now they will be raising their prices to $249USD per month. This is a cost of $300 - $375AUD per month for me. On the other hand, Ivorey is only costing me $149AUD per month with even more features than Kajabi had. So even though it has been a huge shift over to the new platform, it was well worth it to keep my costs down and I won't have to raise prices on anything I offer.

2: I was wanting to put a lot more content up onto YouTube so I can grow on there and reach more people for free. But, now that the owners of YouTube and quite a few other companies have made some decisions that are very harmful to other creators and humans in general, I'd rather find another option. I will continue putting everything up on my own website but just make it free as well. I'm working on that right now.
I'm thinking of just putting more blog posts out with videos or just photo and text based instead. It will be harder for me to reach people but I still have my Dressmaking Techniques course up in YT for now.
3: I have been studying part time these last few months and while I have learned quite a lot, I still have a long way to go. I'm working on a plan so I can keep building Bespoke Stitchery while also in Uni, but it will take a little time for you to see the changes. I am a person with multiple injuries, chronic illnesses and I am only able to work a small amount per day. It's incredibly frustrating to be this way as I have had many plans in the works for a long time now. I am making a little progress on them but my health is taking priority for now.
I know many of you will have your own opinions on what I should/shouldn't be doing and how it could be better if I only did x/y/z, but please remember, you're not living my life and you don't get to see much more than I allow to show you.
I am building as much as I can so you can all start making your own clothes and no longer have to rely on fast fashion. This is not a short term project for profits, this is a long term library where anyone can learn to support themselves as a dressmaker or just make clothes for themselves or families.
Please be safe, all around the world. I am sharing as much goodness as I can but when I am not ok, I don't want to bring anyone else down. I am doing my best to get back up again and I will see you when I'm ready to face a camera again.
Andi xoxo
